Construction Review:

DIY Arcade Controller for MAME

On this website I want to share my experiences which I gathered from building an arcade controller with spinners and trackballs for two players. The term "DualStik" has minimum name clash with already existing products, and since the controller is meant to replace joystick- based units in trackball- and spinner games, this name seems to be a halfway sensible choice. It also reflects the use of two units, which are linked together so as to form a dual player controller. This review includes comments on the design process and the customization of the spinner- and trackball controls. A detailed description of the master- slave approach as a substitute for massive two- player console is included as well.

I started this project in early summer 2007. When it was finished in December, it finally looked like this:

In order to reach a broader audience, I decided to write this page in "Denglisch" (that's the German word for "Germish"), so please be tolerant if the language appears a bit clumsy - I really tried my best :-). If the above topic sounds interesting to you, please feel welcome to read on and enjoy.
